2019+ Honda Talon Desercraft Intake Pre-Filter Kit R2

Protect your Honda Talon’s engine with the Desertcraft Pre-Filter Kit R2 from 10-80 Dirt Sports, sold by PPEI Tuning. This kit adds a first line of defense ahead of the OEM air filter—capturing dust, sand, mud, and water before they reach the factory filter—so you ride with cleaner intake air and less filter maintenance.

The current R2 kit uses a one-piece rotational molded intake tube and two Filterwears hydrophobic covers.

Filtration

Each kit includes the latest USA-made Desertcraft pre-filter with two layers of synthetic media for strong filtration without sacrificing airflow. The USA-made Filterwears hydrophobic covers block water, mud, and particles larger than 0.005" before they reach the pre-filter.

Rear window notice

• 2-seat models: no rear-window issue
• 4-seat models: the roll cage is higher and further back while the fender did not move
• Poly rear windows are thin and should not present install problems
• Glass rear windows are thicker and may cause install problems
• Tusk glass rear window works
• SuperATV glass works, but the pre-filter contacts the window; a 90° or 45° coupler from a local parts store can correct clearance

Rain and heavy dust

• Rain: Filterwears hydrophobic covers help keep water out of the air box. Water will not affect the synthetic Desertcraft media. Water-repellent is not the same as waterproof.
• Heavy dust: field-clean the Desertcraft pre-filter more often during the ride by removing it and tapping it to knock loose captured dust and dirt.
