The refined shift points get rid of the low rpm “Lazy” feel these trucks have that force the driver to stab the throttle for a downshift – not cool and a fuel economy killer! For vehicles with larger turbochargers, ppei transmission tuning is a must to get the engine back into a rpm range to match the torque curve of the new turbo.

Along with the improved shift points, PPEI also refines the torque converter lockup strategy to put the power to the ground much more efficiently for improved fuel economy by eliminated unnecessary slip in the torque converter – which also drives down heat in typical “unlocked” conditions.

Lastly (and possibly the greatest benefit) is the increase in line pressure ppei provides. line pressure increases the holding capacity in the transmission by clamping the clutch packs together with more force – this allows tuned trucks (or trucks towing heavy) to have the confidence they need to enjoy their truck for years to come.

This tuning package can be installed using PPEI RTD, HPTuners MPVI2/3 or EZ LYNK AutoAgent 2/3.

PPEI vs. Duramax Tuners/Calibrated Power

I have a 2022 Ford F250 Super Baja and initially went with the Duramax Tuners TCM and ECM SOTF tuning. I did see a large performance gain with the SOTF ECM tuning over stock but did not get the gains I had hoped for when towing heavy. Additionally, the TCM tuning was terrible! Would not downshift on steep grades without manual shifting, confused from a stop under hard acceleration and would hesitate between gears. After repeated attempts to get a solution from Calibrated I was done! I initially purchased PPEI TCM tuning and on my first trip towing was amazed at the difference in performance! No issue downshifting, holding gears longer to 2600-2700 RPM and much more deliberate shifting points with zero hesitation from a dig. I was able to pull the 6%-7% grades at 15-20MPH higher than the Calibrated TCM tuning. I then decided to purchase their ECU tuning, the 100HP tune. Once installed I had a weekend trip planned pulling my RV Toy Hauler and was blown away at the MPG improvement of 1.6 MPG but the power pulling the step grades allowed me to not have to push the engine as hard to maintain 65-70MPH up steep grades. I provided data logs and am now on my V3 version which PPEI tells me should have me around 600WHP and my truck is an absolute beast! I have not dynoed the truck but will soon in order to validate the exact power. I really appreciated the fact that Logan and Kory would take my logs after each tune version and based on the data dial in the power and performance to match my setup and mods!

I have always loved driving this truck, but mostly drove it towing, but now I find myself taking it on errands over my cars because it is so fun to drive!!

Don’t waste your money like I did and try the other tuners….. See the guys at PPEI!!

The way it should shift.

I’ve ran quite a bit of tunes through the years of having diesel trucks and PPEI trans tuning has always been a favorite of mine. After feeling and seeing how quirky the 10 speeds were I knew where to go. Couldn’t be happier with the way it shifts now. They should have came this way from Ford! 10/10 recommended.

TCM Tuning Amazing!

I am going to start off by saying if you are on the fence at all about a TCM tune. Got off it and purchase. I was very skeptical and researched several tuners and tunes and PPEI is the way to go!!
Great customer service and the product I am very impressed with.

I just installed the TCM tune. Right off just driving at low speed you can feel the transmission is working the way it’s meant to. Very smooth.
A few issues I seen with the stock tune:

1.) searching for a gear at 50 mph going back and forth between 7th and 8th.
2.) from 4th to 5th it felt like it would come completely out of gear momentarily. Not like a slip and high rev more like a power loss come out and then back into the shift.

After the tune I took it out to confirm my thoughts and you all knocked it out of the park. It is so smooth on the take of and holds the gear a bit longer during the initial take off. It also no longer searches for a gear at 50 mph it shifts into 9th gear and holds it.
It shifts so much better in the low end from start to normal driving speed.
Just get the tune and enjoy!!
